Detective Aidan Calloway is rock-solid strong. He's a man of justice - loyal to his friends, family, and job - even if it requires bending a law…or two. He shields himself behind an abrasive, fearless facade, until a phone call one night chips his armor and throws his perfectly planned, hollow life into a tailspin.

Jessie Vega is the epitome of optimism. His carefully crafted attitude of hope and positivity protects him from a past filled with too much pain. When a ghost from a dark time resurfaces and nearly breaks him, he must tap into his inner strength or risk losing everything he's worked so hard to build.

But Jessie can't do it alone. He must fight to break through Aidan's ironclad defenses to reveal the heart of the man hiding beneath the tough surface and mend his damaged spirit. Only then can they truly heal and become strong enough to battle the demons that haunt them and threaten their chance to finally be together.

After Party by kawaii_as_heck

After Party by kawaii_as_heck

The Iwatobi and Samezuka gang meet up at Sousuke's house for an impromptu party, much to his chagrin. However, the one bright spot in all of this is Makoto, who probably the only person who can make Sousuke nervous and tongue-tied. Will Sousuke be able to express his latent feelings for his kindhearted friend or will he be doomed to admire Makoto from a distance?

*swoon* This story is so incredibly adorable! I loved seeing the usually cool and level-headed Sousuke turn into an awkward dork in front of Makoto! I don't want to give away too much of the story, but it is definitely worth your while. There are some really sweet moments and some very steamy moments as well!

Book Review: Spencer Cohen (Book #3) by N.R. Walker

In the final book of the series, Spencer and Andrew fall even more in love with each other despite the fact that they've only been together for two months. Fearing they still may be moving too fast, their bond and feelings for one another only grow stronger, even in the midst of tragedy in Spencer's life.

This was a lovely ending to an equally lovely series that I really enjoyed reading. Spencer and Andrew are two wonderful characters who have their flaws, but seem to shine when they're together. When thinking about Spencer and Andrew, I immediately think of a lyric to a popular song from years ago, "I'm a movement by myself, but I'm a force when we're together. I'm good all by myself, but, baby, you make me better.*"

Through all of their trials and tribulations, these two men manage to support and love one another, making them a romantic force to be reckoned with.

If you have the opportunity to read The Spencer Cohen Series, I highly recommend it! You will not be disappointed!

Serenity by WouldYouSmileForMe

Serenity by WouldYouSmileForMe

When Connor finds a wedding invitation of one of Oliver's family member's in the trash, he wonders why such an important event would be brushed off by his boyfriend. Finding out that Oliver's parents don't approve of him is a tough pill to swallow, but he's determined to change their minds because Oliver and their relationship is worth it.

Wow! What a great, emotional read! WouldYouSmileForMe did a wonderful job portraying the frustration, fear, anxiety and sadness both Connor and Oliver experienced throughout the story with such realism that I felt every single emotion. This is the only story posted by WouldYouSmileForMe so far, but I look forward to reading more!

I ❤ Yaoi: Far Away Beloved by Kaukau (Free! Doujinshi)

Good morning, yaoi fans! This week's selection is Far Away Beloved by Kaukau!

Even though he adores and respects his best friend, Makoto can't help but think that he's holding Haru back. When he confesses and those feelings aren't returned, Makoto decides to let Haru go once and for all so he can truly be free.

This dj is awesome and has a great balance of drama, angst, romance and a little humor (be sure to read the segment with Rei and Nagisa at the very end 😂). I don't want to give away the plot, but I absolutely loved the lengths Makoto was willing to go in order to ensure Haru's happiness...even to his own detriment. Check out this beautiful story! You won't be disappointed!

4.5 stars

Heart by DarkAliceLilith

Heart by DarkAliceLilith

During a quiet moment of rest, Agron finally tells Nasir about Duro.

This a lovely one-shot that gives readers something that I'm sure we all wish had been included in the series. Agron and Nasir talk about Duro and the important role he played in his older brother's life. The short story is filled with emotion and will probably make you fall in love with Nasir and Agron just a little more!

<---- I love Nasir's puppy dog eyes in this scene! ❤️

Book Review: Imperfect Harmony by Jay Northcote

After the tragic loss of his partner of 20 years, John Fletcher is merely existing. An accomplished musician, he gave up all music and has absolutely no desire to ever play again. When his neighbor coaxes him into participating in a community choir, he finally begins to see and feel the beauty of music again thanks to the young and vivacious choir leader, Rhys Callington. Rhys has also experienced his fair share of loss, which prompted him to give up a promising music career.

As the two men learn more about each other and the things they have in common, romantic feelings take root, but John is hesitant due to their 19-year age gap. Will Rhys be able to convince John that he's worth the chance, and will both of them be able to move forward in love or be forever haunted by ghosts of the past?

This was truly an enjoyable book. Both John and Rhys are extremely likeable characters who were flawed, but had immensely big hearts. Given the fact that both men have lost loved ones in the past, I didn't feel as though he book was weighed down with angst. There were plenty of heartrending moments, but also sweet moments that made my heart swell! If you're looking for a relatively uncomplicated love story, this is a great one to try out!

In order to gain his wings and allow his soul to move on, new angel Makoto must complete a good deed and help a human better his life. From the moment he saw Haru, their bond was unbreakable. However, now that his task is almost complete, both boys are dreading the moment when Makoto disappears forever.

This is such an adorable story! It has a good mix of fluff and heartbreaking angst that will make you long for a happy ending for Makoto and Haru. The story is still ongoing, so I can't wait to see what's in store for this adorable couple!

Voyeur by RovakPotter82

Voyeur by RovakPotter82

Castus accidentally stumbles upon Agron and Nasir during an intimate moment.

This is the not the first story I've read in which Castus watches Nasir and Agron have sex. However, it is the first in which Nasir reveals additional details about Agron's jealousy and its effect on him. This is a really quick read, but it will definitely increase your heart rate and possibly melt your screen! Check it out!

Book Review: Love vs. The Limelight by Manda Olie

Rick Campbell is the Hollywood Heartthrob who has it all: a great career, an excellent agent, and fantastic friends. Unfortunately, he also has a secret that could potentially ruin his success. His reputation as a lady-killer is completely fabricated in order to ensure he keeps getting work.

His silence when it comes to the truth may cost him Christian, the love of his life, who's grown tired of being a dirty little secret and has issued Rick an ultimatum: tell the truth or lose Christian. Heartbroken and afraid, harassed by reporters and adrift in a world that's slowly changing, Rick has to choose between the life he's worked hard to build and the man he doesn't want to live without.

Overall, this was an okay read for me. I enjoyed seeing the turmoil Rick endured due to his decision safeguard his career at all costs and the slow rebuilding of his relationship with Christian. However, I couldn't really feel the connection between the two main characters because so much of their relationship was in the past and explained to us in exposition. I knew, in theory, that Rick and Christian were deeply in love, but I didn't feel it.
