Benched by bornonhalloween

Benched by bornonhalloween

Edward begrudgingly takes on the task of coaching kindergarteners tee-ball and soon discovers that the uncle of one of the young players is none other than baseball star, Emmett McCarty. It's bad enough that that man is gorgeous, but now he's volunteered to be Edward's assistant coach? Things are about to get very awkward and uncomfortable very fast.

This story, told in 100-word drabbles, is silly, fun and an overall great read. You will eagerly anticipate each new chapter as Edward and Emmett try to coach tee-ball while not killing each other, and eventually develop a close friendship.

Love in the Unlikeliest Place by Hank's Lady

Love in the Unlikeliest Place by Hank's Lady

Edward and his small group of friends make a bet that each of them will lose their virginity by the end of senior year. That only gives each of them four weeks to meet their goal. Unfortunately for Edward, it won't be that easy. He has been trying to come to terms with his sexuality and the fact that he harbors a huge crush on his good friend, Emmett, doesn't help. Will he meet his goal or will he continue to hide in the closet?

This is story is so adorable! My heart went out to Edward as he struggled with his feelings and not wanting to hide who he is anymore. Emmett, as always, is big sweetheart that will make you want to give him a big hug. If you're looking for a nice fluffy story with a little angst mixed in, this is the perfect one for you!

Fifty Shades of Rainbow by AuthorBoi

Summary: Edward is alone for a month and, with no Bella to keep him company, he decides to do a bit of reading when he is interrupted by none other than Emmett. What will happen when they sit down and watch a classic movie together...will true feelings come out?

After 150 years of marriage, Edward feels lonelier than ever. The spark he once had for his wife is gone and he feels as though he's back in that same depressed and dark place he inhabited prior to meeting her. When the one constant in his life, Emmett, invites him over to watch a movie, feelings that Edward hasn't felt in decades resurface. Will Edward accept his feelings or turn his back on the one person who loves him most?

I've read a few of AuthorBoi's stories so far and each of them has impressed me greatly. The amount of emotion he is able to inject into this story is realistic without being melodramatic, but dramatic enough to hold my attention and leave me wanting more. It's great to see a young author coming into his own and I hope you give this riveting and enjoyable story a try.

Sure Eyes by KellanCougar

Sure Eyes by KellanCougar

New student, Emmett McCarty, is determined to fit in and make it on to the starting team. However, before he can do so, he must complete a sadistic and cruel hazing ritual. He is tasked with seducing foreign student and outcast, Edward Cullen, and then humiliate him in front of everyone at the big Halloween party. Emmett doesn't want to do it, but at the same time, he wants to fit in, so he begrudgingly agrees. He and Edward soon become close friends and as the Halloween deadline nears, Emmett frantically tries to come up with a way to avoid hurting the guy he's developed genuine feelings for.

I really enjoyed this story about a young man who is forced to get to know someone because of a dare, but ends up finding a true friend and confidant. There are a couple twists and turns that will keep you on your toes, but all in all, this is wonderful read.

I Do by SimplyTwimum

I Do by SimplyTwimum (aka SimplyMatt & Twlightmum69)

Emmett and Edward grew up together and have been best friends for as long as they can remember. Virtually part of the Cullen family, Emmett has a great relationship with Edward's siblings and parents. He returns to Forks in order to help Edward prepare for his upcoming wedding. Since they've always been close, casual smiles and touches are the norm. However, something seems different and Emmett soon finds himself wanting to be the person Edward calls "baby". He especially wants to be the person standing in front of him at the altar. Will Emmett muster up enough courage to tell Edward how he really feels or will his heart be forever shattered when Edward says "I do" to someone else?

I really enjoyed this story! It's sweet, angsty and funny. The rapport between Emmett and the entire Cullen family is really quite lovely and I know you'll find yourself hoping that both he and Edward see the light. I don't want to give anything away, so you'll just have to read this delightful story to find out what ultimately happens. :)

Doc McCarty and the Big, Purple Cat Toy by Discordia81

Doc McCarty and the Big, Purple Cat Toy by Discordia81

Edward is awakened in the middle of the night when he hears his cat retching and vomiting in the other room. Unfortunately she got ahold of Edward's dildo and decided to make a snack out of it. After rushing her to the animal hospital, Edward not only has to experience the worry of his cat being ill, but also has to explain to the extremely hot vet, Emmett, exactly why she got sick. Both Emmett and Edward are attracted to one another, but will they be able to overcome their fears and nervousness to explore a potentially great relationship?

This story is adorable! It's filled with embarrassing, awkward, funny and sweet moments that any fan of slash would enjoy. Emmett and Edward are both sweet and likeable characters, and I especially enjoyed Edward's geeky and shy personality. Definitely check out this fun and romantic story!

Every Day, Forever by Whitlock-Masen

Every Day, Forever by Whitlock-Masen

Edward and Emmett have been together since their senior year in college and things couldn't be better. They have a great life together and are happy and in love. On this particular day they're on their way to a family reunion, and while Edward likes Emmett's family, he finds it all very overwhelming. However, Edward tries to put some of his discomfort aside because he knows how much family means to Emmett. Edward believes this trip is to spend time with family, but Emmett has a special surprise in store for the man he loves.

I have no idea how I missed this story! I've been a fan of Whitlock-Masen since I read their incredible story, Marked, but somehow overlooked this gem. I like that Edward and Emmett are an established couple who know each other inside and out. The interactions between Edward, Emmett and the many McCarty family members is touching and made me feel like I was right there in story enjoying the family BBQ and catching up with friends. There were a few moments that absolutely warmed my heart and even made me a little misty-eyed. lol

I can't say enough about Every Day, Forever and would highly recommend reading this lovely story. It's definitely one of my favorites!

Take Advantage of the Situation by IzzyLilliana

Take Advantage of the Situation by IzzyLilliana

Edward is pissed when he discovers his ex-boyfriend (of only two days), Emmett, making out with his former friend, Jasper, in his own club. The longer he watches the two of them paw each other, the angrier he becomes. Unable to take it any longer, Edward confronts the two men. Little does he know that Jasper just doesn't want Emmett, but Edward as well.

HOT! HOT! HOT! You will definitely need a tall glass of water, a fan and maybe a new computer on stand-by when you read this story! This is an AU PWP story in all its wonderful glory, and I know you will love every moment of it! :D

Outed by Scarlet Grey-Cross

Outed by Scarlet Grey-Cross

When Emmett's best friend, Jasper, sets him up with someone he thinks will be a perfect match, Emmett is not at all disappointed in what he sees when he arrives at the party. Extremely handsome, and with a great personality to boot, Edward immediately catches Emmett's fancy. At the end of a fun-filled night of drinking, dancing and karaoke, the two men share a smoldering kiss and head in separate directions. The following morning, Emmett is anxious to contact Edward and sends off some rather...suggestive texts. The only problem is that the texts never make it to Edward, but Emmett's mother instead!

This is an adorable story that is sure to bring a smile to your face. It's sweet and fluffy with some hilariously cringe-worthy texts that will make you experience second-hand embarrassment for poor Emmett. Definitely give this story a try!

Healing and Restoration by greengables22

Healing and Restoration by greengables22

Emmett has just received news that will forever change his life. Cancer. After watching his father wither away fighting the disease when he was a child, Emmett doesn't know what he's going to do. He scared, panic-stricken and feels like the weight of the world is on his shoulders. Luckily he has his best friend, Rosalie, by his side, and Edward, his oncologist's son who mesmerized, intrigued and aroused him upon first glance.

This is really a sweet story about two men, both dealing with their own obstacles and hinderances, coming together and falling in love. As I read each chapter, I find myself deeply invested in the characters' happiness and well-being. This is definitely a story for people who enjoy a slow burn romance with a little angst mixed in. Definitely recommended.

One Summer Night by karenec

One Summer Night by karenec

Gearing up to walk his sister, Alice, down the aisle, Edward is disappointed to find out that his date has ditched him. Even though he's frustrated and hurt, Edward puts on a brave face for his family and friends. However, there is one friend in particular, Emmett, who makes it his mission to ensure Edward is happy as well.

So far this drabble-esque story seems quite promising. We're still early in the game, but it's enjoyable and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Chances Taken by tattedheart

Chances Taken by tattedheart

Since the beginning of summer, Edward has watched a gorgeous man run along the beach with his dog each morning. He wants to say something, but his extreme social anxiety prevents him from doing so. He's content to watch the handsome stranger and slip into his fantasy world where he writes about characters he wishes he could be.

Emmett notices the shy man who daily sits on his deck and drinks coffee shortly after he moves to town. Each day he wishes they could have a conversation, but  he hasn't quite built up the nerve. With a new resolve, Emmett is more determined that ever to get to know the beautiful man.

To call this story beautiful would be an understatement. Chances Taken just made me feel good; warmed from the inside. The tentative interaction between Emmett and Edward is charming and innocent, and the slow development of their relationship is quite lovely. I would highly recommend this story for anyone in the mood for an old-fashioned romance that will leave a big smile on your face.

The Hike by Yulliah

The Hike by Yulliah

Edward, Jasper, Seth and Jacob set out for their annual camping trip that promises to be a lot of fun. However, Edward knows the trip will be full of torment because his nemesis, Emmett, willl be there as well. Edward doesn't know what he did to Emmett to warrant all of the Emmett's taunting and hurtful actions, but he decides to just grit his teeth a bare it. After an accident, revelations are made and Edward is forced to wrap his head around some startling news.

This is a story that immediately draws you in and makes you care about the characters. I could feel Edward's frustration and disbelief at the unfolding events, and his confusion and betrayal during an important (in my opinion) point in the story was so palpable that I too wanted him to push everyone away. I don't want to give too much away, but I recommend that you check this story out! Hopefully Yulliah will revisit these characters in the future because I'd love to know if Edward and the others were able to repair their fractured friendship.

Appreciated, but Not Required by L.A.91

Edward has just experienced the death of a parent and not only has to deal with the pain of that loss, but he also must deal with the whispers and murmurs of his classmates as he tries to put on a brave face at school. When the guy who has been the source of torment and embarrassment tries to show his support, Edward wants nothing to do with it. Will Emmett be able to break through and explain the reasoning behind his bullying or will Edward continue to shut him, and everyone else, out?

Although this one shot is quite sad a times, there is also a sweetness that balances out the angst. Edward's pain is described so vividly that I just wanted to reach through the screen, give him a hug and tell him that everything would be okay. Emmett also won me over with his quiet support and desire to comfort someone he has a lot in common with.

Please check out this beautiful story, but you may want to have a kleenex or two handy just in case. *giggle*

Carousels and Wishing Wells by KellanCougar

Carousels and Wishing Wells by KellanCougar

Unhappy with this love life, Emmett finds himself at a fair, admiring the carousel and dropping coins into the wishing well. The bright lights and happy faces of the patrons around him bring some semblance of joy, but not enough to cure his broken heart. When a mysterious man literally walks into his life, the world as he knows it is forever changed. The immediate physical chemistry Emmett shares with Edward is unparalleled, but it's the emotional connection that's frightening in its intensity. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. When the fair packs up and leaves, so does Edward and the happiness that filled Emmett's heart and soul for one glorious night.

Will Edward and Emmett reconnect or will he fall back into the arms of his manipulative ex?

Please take a moment to read this enchanting story! It is so incredibly good!

My Angel by L.A.91

My Angel by L.A.91 - COMPLETE

Freshly out of the closet, Edward lives a pretty good life. He's one of the most popular guys at school and hangs out with a pretty cool crowd of friends. He seems to have the world at his fingertips, but the one thing that throws a wrench into his ideal existence is Emmett. Edward has had a crush on him for years, but they run in different circles...and Emmett is straight. He's just as popular as Edward, but they've never interacted very much.

When the opportunity arises for them to finally get to know each other better, Edward learns something very important about his crush. However, those feelings of happiness are dashed with a violent incident occurs at a party.

I really liked this one shot. Even though there are some shocking and disturbing moments, the overall theme of support, love and being a shoulder to lean on shines through. The story is mainly focused on Edward and Emmett, but I thought secondary character, Jasper, was really cute. To me, he seemed like an excited puppy, happy to get to know people and make new friends. :) His own spin off story would be lovely to read (hint, hint, L.A.91). lol

Definitely check out this story! Some parts are difficult to read, but the sweet, loving moments make up for it.
