Josh Cooper, top US security field agent, is sent on an inter-agency assignment to London, when a partner in his firm goes missing in suspicious circumstances. Used to working in sole charge of his well-honed team, he clashes heads with the handsome, but pompous Cal, his UK co-operator and superior. Josh’s gut tells him something is wrong. He’s being kept out of the loop and Cal’s agenda is running on a different path.

He also has a personal issue to deal with. He’s involved in a cyber-relationship with “Charlie”, an unknown man who connected with Josh by accident. Their banter has led to deeper respect and a sexual interest, but now Josh is faced with a growing attraction to Cal. Between this conflict and the tension of the mission, Josh’s heart and head are overworked and confused. Things can’t get much worse.

Then Josh discovers the enemies he’s seeking have a new target: him.

Book Review: Very Late Blooming by Hayden Hunt

Gabe lives a very solitary life. He recently suffered the loss of his beloved grandmother, who was the only real family he had. To stave off his loneliness, Gabe buries himself in his work as an office manager at a dental office.

Oliver lives life to the fullest and tries to make the best out of every situation. He finds a creative outlet by working at his parents' floral shop, but is also intrigued by his quiet, somewhat standoffish new neighbor.

I found this story to be quite enjoyable. Oliver is a ray of sunshine who is an absolutely adorable character. Gabe, on the other hand, has a lot of emotional baggage he has to sort out, but watching his journey was interesting and realistic. If you're in the mood for a quick read featuring flawed, but inherently good characters, this is the book for you!

Hung Out to Dry by swirlycloud

Hung Out to Dry by swirlycloud

After Makoto's near-tragic experience during training camp, he's not doing well. Physically he's okay, but he's struggling emotionally and mentally. Haru harbors feelings of guilt, anger and frustration and fears that his best friend is slipping away.

Wow! This story is incredible! It deals with heavy subject matter, but swirlycloud writes it in a way that is engaging, thought-provoking and beautifully emotional. I know we all held our breath during this particular scene in the anime (for various reasons ;p), so it's nice to see what may have happened in the days following. Highly recommended!

Different Perspectives by peloquine

Different Perspectives by peloquine

Duro doesn't know how to feel about all of his big brother's attention being placed on his new boyfriend.

This is an interesting look at how things could have gone if Duro had lived and eventually met Nasir. Even though this is a modern au, the feelings and emotions remain the same. Many people in the fandom believe that Nasir and Duro would hit it off immediately (I'm one of those people); however, this story shows what would
happen if Duro really didn't like Nasir when he breezed into the German brothers' lives.

Definitely give this story a try! I know you'll enjoy it!

Oliver's life is comfortable. He has a nice house, a nice husband and a nice life; but he feels empty inside. He's no longer in love with his husband, but also doesn't want to leave him. When a handsome stranger throws his life into a tailspin, Oliver begins to question whether his safe, comfortable life is really all it's cracked up to be.

I've really enjoyed this story so far. It's interesting to watch the dynamic between Oliver and Connor vs. Oliver and his husband, and the author really makes you root for a Coliver union. We're still only a few chapters in, but I look forward to seeing how this story unfolds!

I ❤️ Yaoi: Ne, Makochan Kocchi Muite by Oni (Free! Doujinshi)

Good morning yaoi lovers! This week's selection is the Free! doujinshi, Ne, Makochan Kocchi Muite by Oni.

Haru is becoming increasingly frustrated with his friends who seem to instantly fall in love with his Makoto whenever he smiles.

This is a silly manga that will certainly give you a chuckle to two! I can't blame Rei, Nagisa and Rei for swooning when Makoto smiles. It's so lovely and sweet! Give this manga a try and find out how Haru deals with his amorous friends.

Agron and Nasir meet when Nasir's family moves on to the base where they become fast friends. Agron doesn't think he could ever find a friend as wonderful as Nasir again.

This is a seriously adorable one shot! It's a very quick read, so I don't want to give away too much of the plot, but I know you'll enjoy it! Give it a try!

When his Republican opponent outs him with a photo in a Facebook post, Senator Samuel Dalton doesn’t have many options open to him. It doesn’t matter that the photo was totally innocent. He has no choice but to come clean – until his staff suggest putting a spin on it that leaves Sam reeling.

Sure, he’d end up with a lot of sympathy, not to mention the possibility of more voters from the LGBT community, but it still seems a pretty drastic solution.

Now all they have to do is persuade Gary, the other man in the photo, to play along. It sounds so easy - convince the constituents of North Carolina that he and Sam are engaged.

No big deal, except for the fact that they’ve only just met…

Book Review: Connection Error (#gaymers 3) by Annabeth Albert

When Josiah sits next to Ryan on cross country flight to Washington, D.C., sparks fly and they have an instant connection. Both men are currently dealing with their own issues, Ryan is a double amputee trying to get back into active military duty and Josiah suffers from ADHD and a fear of stepping out on his own, so they have no time for a relationship, but they just can't help but be drawn to each other. Will their differences bring them closer together or push them farther apart?

Annabeth Albert's #gaymers series has been a win for me so far. We're three books in and I've enjoyed each one thoroughly. This story really tugged on the heartstrings while bringing attention to the different challenges, mentally, physically and emotionally, people face every day. Josiah is a complete sweetheart that I really rooted for, and Ryan was the perfect alpha male who can take charge and get things done, but also exhibit tenderness. There were certainly times when I wanted to shake each man, tell him to "snap out of it" and just talk, but watching their journey was all part of the fun. I highly recommend this book. It can be read as a standalone, but reading the previous two books will help you with some of the background characters.

All Things Change by edge_lord

                                                      All Things Change by edge_lord

After moving into his apartment, Makoto can't help but feel homesick and a little scared. However, he can always count on Haru to make him feel safe and happy.

This one-shot is a great mix of fluff, angst and heat! I loved how Haru seemed to innately know that his best friend needed him. Your heart (and screen) will probably melt by the end of this quick read. Give it a try!

I ❤️ Yaoi: Hanyuu-sensei no Ryou Seikatsu by Itsuki Makoto

Hello yaoi lovers! This week's feature is Hanyuu-sensei no Ryou Seikatsu by Itsuki Makoto.

Hanyuu wants nothing else but become a teacher who guides the students in life; however, fails the admission each time. He is also mistaken for a boy in his teens. Unexpectedly he finally gains employment at a school...as a student?!?!

This manga is...loud. Even though I could not physically hear a words that were being said, I felt the need to cover my ears while reading. There is a lot of screaming, tantrums, scary roommates and tears, but there is also a decent amount of humor. Hanyuu is a complete sweetheart and I look forward to seeing how he handles his undercover position at the school.

Afterglow by SparklingPopsicles

Afterglow by SparklingPopsicles

After a passionate night together, Makoto takes care of Haru.

*swoon* This has to be one of the sweetest MakoHaru stories I've ever read. It's not all cavity-inducing fluff though. There is a lot of humor with a dash of angst mixed in. If you're a MakoHaru fan, I highly recommend this story! You will love every minute!

I ❤️ Yaoi: Kimi ga Otona ni Naru Mae ni by Sagami Waka

Greetings yaoi lovers! This week's selection is Kimi ga Otona ni Naru Mae ni by Sagami Waka!

Entrance examinee Takafumi Tsuru, who's secretyly in love with this cram school lecturer, Yuuki Senpa, accidentally learns Senapa's "secret." Senpa, who's seen through to Tsuru's feelings, offers to be "pretend lovers" in place of hush money. While Tsuru knows Senpa isn't serious about him, he can't deny his feelings and accepts his offer. But it gradually becomes painful having a love that seems to be going nowhere. Then, one day, Senpa disappears from Tsuru's life.

This is a fluffy slice of life story that tells the familiar trope of a student falling for his teacher. However, the slight twist in the story is unexpected and quite interesting. The manga is beautifully drawn and the characters are likeable and sweet. Give this manga a try!
