Run to You by TwiSagaLover

Run to You by TwiSagaLover

After another trying dinner with his parents, who feel he should settle down with a nice girl and have a family, Carlisle finds himself wandering aimlessly through town, lost in his thoughts, and ends up in a tattoo shop. He is completely enamored by the young tattoo artist with a mischievous smirk and a penchant for chewing on his bottom lip. Drawn to the man and his work, Carlisle is soon in the tattoo chair having ink embedded in his skin...and Edward embedded in soul.

This is a nice, uncomplicated one-shot that was a fun read. I do wish that some plot points and characters had been fleshed out more, particularly Jake, whose back story deserved a little more exposition, but all in all it was a pleasant story that could definitely use a sequel. ;)

It Happened at the Drive-In by SqueakyZorro

It Happened at the Drive-In by SqueakyZorro

When Edward arrives home one day appalled that people in town believe he and Carlisle are in a relationship with one another, Carlisle reminds him of their strong connection and the fact that Edward's feelings for his sire may be more than friendly.

This is a really sweet story, mostly told in flashbacks, about Edward and Carlisle's relationship from the time Edward arrived at the hospital sick with Spanish Influenza to the present.

Allure of the Seas by avioleta

Allure of the Seas by avioleta

Edward, who tends bar on a cruise ship, is enamored with the guest staying in state room 1298. After an unexpected, but scorching kiss, Edward is left yearning for more from the mature and mysterious man, but he also must keep in mind that fraternizing with guests is against the rules.

This is a cute one-shot that's filled to the brim with UST. Readers watch with baited breath as Edward and Carlisle dance around each other, flirt and fight their attraction to one another.

Heaven, Hell and Purgatory by twilight mum69

Heaven, Hell and Purgatory by twilight mum69

Carlisle has just recently recovered from a horrific beating that left him partially blind and hard of hearing. Coming back to work at the club where it all happened is difficult, but he's determined to move forward. When he waits on Edward and his friends, he's immediately attracted to the quiet and handsome stranger. Edward is tired of hiding who he truly is. He doesn't want to disappoint his family, but hiding in the closet is suffocating. As Edward and Carlisle interact and learn more about each other, they find they have a lot of common, and their chemistry is off the charts. They both set out to live their lives the best way they know how - together.

This one-shot is so, so good! My heart went out to Carlisle as he tried to acclimate himself to the club scene once again after enduring such a traumatic experience, and Edward's inner turmoil over his sexuality, and coming to terms with it, was realistically portrayed. Seeing the two skittish men open up to each other was a real treat and the ending result warmed my heart! Highly recommended read!

Sweet Young Thing by naelany

Sweet Young Thing by naelany

Carlisle knows real love. He shared an incredible life with his partner, Liam, but sadly lost him when he passed away. When he meets Edward, who is half his age, he experiences conflicting feelings: part of him loves spending time with the young man, but the other part is self-conscious about their age difference and all the potential problems that could create. Will Carlisle and Edward be able to look past that one aspect of their lives or will it prevent them from experiencing true happiness?

I absolutely adore this story! Carlisle is an interesting character. He's passionate and strong, but also has quite a vulnerable side, especially when it comes to his relationship with Edward and his feelings. Edward is a unicorn: that perfect guy who not only has a great head on his shoulders, but also knows what he wants at pretty young age. I wish I'd been that together in my early twenties! lol The way Carlisle and Edward's relationship develops is so sweet and true-to-life that I couldn't help but root for them. Even though age seems to be an issue to Carlisle and a couple other characters, I never noticed it. They were just men getting to know each other and establishing a lovely friendship and romance.

I also have to mention the character, Randall. He was a great addition to the story who supports both Carlisle and Edward and, in some instances, stole the show.

I highly recommend this wonderful story!

Rainbows and Storm Clouds by alexajaye

Married couple, Carlisle and Edward, are faced with tragedy when Carlisle's sister and brother-in-law are killed in a car accident. On her deathbed, Rosalie asks Carlisle to take over the care of her daughters because she knows he and Edward will provide the life she wants them to have. He accepts without question, but nothing can ever be that easy. Carlisle's father and his homophobic brother, Jasper, are determined to stop the adoption at all costs...even to the point of calling Edward's abusive and psychotic ex, James, to help.

I stumbled upon this story while doing a search and I'm so glad I did! This story has so many twists and turns that you'll stay on the edge of your seat! It has a good mix of sweet, fluffly romance, angst, drama and suspense. I will warn you that Jasper is extremely OOC, but his character and storyline really give the story some extra umph! Be prepared to have your emotions go on a roller coaster ride in this intense and gripping tale. I highly recommend!

Driven to Distraction by AbstractSong101

Driven to Distraction by AbstractSong101

Carlisle works for a driving service in London. When a handsome and mysterious client catches his eye and stirs up some unprofessional feelings, Carlisle embarks on a journey he never intended to experience. Edward is used to people listening to him and jumping exactly when he tells them to. When his driver makes him experience feelings he's never felt, he wonders what could be wrong with him. Will Carlisle and Edward be able to overcome obstacles and their fears or will they be stuck in limbo?

Edward and Carlisle! Yum! The sexual tension between these two is through the roof! Edward is definitely the guy you love to hate with his arrogance, complaints and demands, but he also has a vulnerable side that is quite endearing. Carlisle, on the other hand, is a great guy who is far from perfect, but possesses the patience of a man willing to do whatever it takes to find love. I don't know why it's taken me so long to sit down and read this fic, but I'm so glad I did!

Safe in Harbor by sadtomato

Safe in Harbor by sadtomato

Still mourning the loss of his long-term partner, Peter, two years after his death, Carlisle's friends and family band together to help him move on and live the life they know Peter would have wanted him to live. After begrudgingly arriving in paradise for his all-inclusive vacation, Carlisle's initially closed off and quiet, not wanting to do anything but relax and then go back home. When a handsome student, Edward, breezes into his life, Carlisle is torn. Should he accept the attention and affection from this adorable young man or keep to himself and not betray the memory of his deceased partner?

I loved this one shot! Carlisle's pain was so real and heartbreaking that I found myself wanting to reach through the screen and give him a hug. However, seeing him slowly come out of his shell and enjoy life (and Edward) was really sweet to witness. I would definitely recommend this story to those who enjoy sweet stories about second chances at love.

Lost Boys by vampireisthenewblack

Lost Boys by vampireisthenewblack

Carlisle is horrified when his progeny and former lover, Edward, returns after subsisting on humans. He originally left when Carlisle found Esme and was unable to accept that they're mates. When he returns, he brings along a very special gift. Disturbed by Edward's downward spiral into insanity, Carlisle must figure out how to love the fragile vampire and at the same time protect himself and Esme from him.

Talk about an edge of your seat story! I don't want to give too much away, but I can tell you that you won't be disappointed. vampireisthenewblack effectively portrays Edward's madness in such a frightening way that on more than one occasion a chill went down my spine. If you're interested in reading something completely different and engrossing, this story is for you!

Evergreen by ICMezzo

Evergreen by ICMezzo

It's Christmastime and Carlisle is busy trying to create the type of Christmas Edward enjoyed while human. Unfortunately, Carlisle is plagued with feelings of guilt and shame because he continues to have sensual thoughts about the newborn vampire. Not wanting to make Edward uncomfortable, he tries his best to bury them. When Edward reaches out to Carlisle, will he continue to hide his feelings or finally express them?

This is a very sweet one shot that brought a big smile to my face. Carlisle's torment and the discomfort displayed by both characters is so palpable and raw. Saying more would give the story away, but I highly recommend that you check this story out!

Under the Christmas Tree by kitkat681

Under the Christmas Tree by kitkat681 - COMPLETE

Edward has been in love with this close friend and roommate, Carlisle for as long as he can remember. Unfortunately, Carlisle has no idea, so Edward has to stand by as Carlisle goes from woman to woman, his heart breaking a little each time. Edward's life shatters when Carlisle reveals that he's going to propose to his girlfriend, Esme. Will Carlisle ever see what's right in front of him or will Edward be doomed to suffer unrequited love while his best friend builds a life with someone else?

This story put me through the ringer right from the start. Edward's heartbreak was so palpable and I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen between these two guys. Originally a one shot, kitkat681 added a second chapter that's just as angsty and great! Definitely give this story a shot!

Claiming Souls by MyTwiDreams

Claiming Souls by MyTwiDreams

Edward loves his mate. That's why he has to dispose of the men who dare touch his beautiful and pure Carlisle. Edward feels no remorse because he feels it's all for the best. Carlisle will be his one day, but until then, Edward will wait in the shadows, watch his beloved and kill those who get too close.

Carlisle constantly struggles with his feelings and urges. Being homosexual in the early 20th century could not only ruin his reputation, but also potentially have him killed. Occasionally he comes across a man who shares his same desires and gives in. However, shame consumes him afterwards. It's his dreams of a beautiful angel who provides a little solace, and night after night he wishes his angel were real.

I was absolutely blown away by this story. MyTwiDreams describes the emotions of Edward and Carlisle so effectively that you can almost feel the fear, frustration, desire, anger, lust and love swirling around you. Seeing a dark Edward and human Carlisle was a much welcomed and refreshing twist. Although great as it is, I hope MyTwiDreams will consider continuing this story because I can't get enough of these complex characters.
