Smile by CollabLissieandBrookie

Smile by CollabLissieandBrookie

Emmett is an outcast. He hates school and can't wait until the day he can quit. When he comes across bullies taunted a skinny, blond boy, he comes to his rescue. Soon Emmett and Jasper grow closer and become friends. However, Jasper doesn't understand why Emmett would be his friend, let alone defend him from bullies. Even Emmett doesn't understand his need to protect Jasper, but all he knows is that he determined to continue being there for him and continuing their friendship.

Angsty and raw, this is one story you should check out. Your heart will break for both Emmett and Jasper, but it will also be warmed by the sweet friendship they are building. I can't wait to see what happens between these two friends as they grow older and have to overcome more and more obstacles.

Book Review: The Firecracker and the Rocket by Jackie Nacht

In the seventh book in the Holiday Jobs that Don't Suck series, we find Casey, who has been harboring a crush on Vin, a freshman football player. However, he's somewhat heartbroken and very annoyed by the fact that Vin continuously comes into the restaurant, where Casey's a waiter, with a different person on his arm. Little does Casey know that Vin has been keeping an eye on him as well.

Delightful and sweet, the latest book in this series does not disappoint. Jackie Nacht always manages to mix the right amount of angst and sweet fluff in these novellas. The MCs are very likable and I found myself rooting for their HEA. It was nice to see quick glimpses of couples from the previous books, and I look forward to more stories in this lovely series.

Outed by Scarlet Grey-Cross

Outed by Scarlet Grey-Cross

When Emmett's best friend, Jasper, sets him up with someone he thinks will be a perfect match, Emmett is not at all disappointed in what he sees when he arrives at the party. Extremely handsome, and with a great personality to boot, Edward immediately catches Emmett's fancy. At the end of a fun-filled night of drinking, dancing and karaoke, the two men share a smoldering kiss and head in separate directions. The following morning, Emmett is anxious to contact Edward and sends off some rather...suggestive texts. The only problem is that the texts never make it to Edward, but Emmett's mother instead!

This is an adorable story that is sure to bring a smile to your face. It's sweet and fluffy with some hilariously cringe-worthy texts that will make you experience second-hand embarrassment for poor Emmett. Definitely give this story a try!

It Happened at the Drive-In by SqueakyZorro

It Happened at the Drive-In by SqueakyZorro

When Edward arrives home one day appalled that people in town believe he and Carlisle are in a relationship with one another, Carlisle reminds him of their strong connection and the fact that Edward's feelings for his sire may be more than friendly.

This is a really sweet story, mostly told in flashbacks, about Edward and Carlisle's relationship from the time Edward arrived at the hospital sick with Spanish Influenza to the present.

Love Denied, Passion Found by Twilightobsessed09

Love Denied, Passion Found by Twilightobsessed09

Edward has just spent the last seven years of his life in a prison cell. Convicted of manslaughter for killing his biological father, he wonders how he'll make it on the outside. His grandfather is making it increasingly hard to see his mother, sister and the only father he's ever known, and he doesn't know how he'll survive without his support system. When he's picked up outside of the prison by his parole officer, Jasper Whitlock, his head (both of them) and heart are immediately interested. However, Jasper is off limits, but that doesn't stop Edward from dreaming.

This one-shot is one of those stories that immediately sucks you in. Twilightobsessed09 described the characters and situations so vividly that I felt like I actually part of the story. Jasper is the ultimate sex-on-two-legs character. His sexy accent, I-don't-give-give-a-fuck attitude and ever-present smirk would make anyone swoon, so it's understandable that Edward
would fall for him so easily.

Definitely check out this angsty and very hot story! You won't be disappointed!

An Angelic Meeting by Vicktor Alexander

Beautiful story about an angel who finds his soulmate in a less-than-perfect human on earth. I loved this short story that was wonderfully written. I especially liked the fact that God was such an understanding, non-judgmental God who only wanted happiness for his creation...much how I always imagined He would be, and contrary to how extremists describe Him. My only complaint is that I wish there was more. It kind of ended abruptly, but the author created a world and characters that could easily have their own series of books (*fingers crossed*). Highly recommended!
Update: Vicktor Alexander has revealed that he will be writing a series based upon the characters he created in this short story. I'm so excited!!!!

Crossing Lines by JasperLuver48

Crossing Lines by JasperLuver48

When Jasper rescued the "new boy" from being beaten by bullies, he never thought that initial meeting would affect his life in so many ways. After becoming fast friends, Jasper and Edward remained attached at the hip during their adolescence, each experiencing new an exciting things together and crossing the lines of friendship, love, pain and forgiveness.

I would highly recommend reading this wonderful story that chronicles the lives of two men as they navigate life with and without each other. I couldn't help but fall in love with MCs and root for their happiness. Angsty, sweet and just plain good, Crossing Lines is easily one of my fanfiction favorites.
